Scorpion Solitaire: what to know before playing

Take a moment with Scorpion Solitaire before moving to another game. Complete four same-suit king-to-ace runs. Use the example below to understand a decision. Identify the playing area and the controls you need. Look at what changes after your first action.

Seven columns; three stock cards dealt once to the first three columns. Free solo play, no wagering.

Bring this focus to a round

Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention. Refer to the controls when needed.

Your goal

Complete four same-suit king-to-ace runs. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. The example below illustrates a decision.

From the start of a round

  1. Move a face-up card with its tail onto the next higher same-suit rank. Kings fill empty columns.
  2. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
  3. Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Making selections and moves

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. Make sure you are interacting with the game rather than the surrounding page.

Try this example

The trailing cards may be unordered, but the destination suit and rank must match. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Notice the change in the playing area.

Pay attention to this rule

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. A different version of the game may use a different rule. When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round.
